How to Remove an Identifier from a Pharmacy Group

Learn how to remove an assigned identifier from a pharmacy group

With Account Identifier Mappings, you can remove an identifier that is no longer associated with a pharmacy group. When an identifier is removed, it is moved to the Unassigned group and is no longer mapped to the pharmacy group.

Removing an identifier

Use the following steps to remove an identifier from a pharmacy group.

  1. Navigate to Account Identifier Mappings.

  2. Filter by the applicable covered entity.

  3. Select the pharmacy group containing the identifier you want to remove.

  4. Locate the identifier within the pharmacy group.

  5. Click the trash can icon for the identifier to remove it from the group.

  6. When prompted if you want to remove this identifier, click Yes, Remove Identifier.

After the identifier is removed from the pharmacy group, it will be moved to the Unassigned group. From there, you can review the identifier and map it to another pharmacy group if needed.

Tip: If you want to move the identifier directly from one pharmacy group to another, use the Transfer Identifier functionality instead of removing it. For more information, see How to Transfer an Identifier.
