If a pharmacy or account is At Risk or Suspended, you can use the At Risk and Suspended Pharmacies report or your email notifications to identify the affected account.
Accounts are managed through either Submission Balances or Purchase Validation. Each module has a different investigation process, so it's important to identify the correct one before reviewing an account's balance.
Using the Email Notification
The quickest way to identify At Risk and Suspended accounts in 340B ESP is by using the At Risk and Suspended Accounts email notification. If an account becomes At Risk or Suspended, registered users will receive an email notifying them of the affected accounts.
You can use these emails to determine where in 340B ESP to review and resolve the listed account imbalances.
Submission Balances Email
If you receive an email with the subject line [340B ID] – [Manufacturer] Notice Regarding 340B Claims Requirement, one or more of your accounts are At Risk. Use the pharmacy information listed to identify the affected accounts, then review and resolve the associated account imbalances in Submission Balances.
Purchase Validation Email
If you receive an email with the subject line [340B ID] – Weekly Summary Regarding 340B Claims Requirement, one or more of your accounts are At Risk or Suspended. Use the list of At Risk and Suspended accounts to identify the affected accounts, then review and resolve the associated account imbalances in Purchase Validation.
Use the covered entity, manufacturer, and pharmacy information included in the email to locate the corresponding account in the applicable module.
Using the At Risk and Suspended Accounts Report
In 340B ESP, you can view all of your at risk and suspended pharmacies in one place using the At Risk and Suspended Pharmacies report, located in the Reports module. The report displays pharmacies with an At Risk or Suspended status that may require action to maintain or restore access to the manufacturer’s 340B pricing offer.
Navigate to the Reports module.
Navigate to the At Risk and Suspended Pharmacies report.
Use the filters provided to identify one or more At Risk and Suspended Pharmacies by covered entity, manufacturer, or status.
Note the affected pharmacy and manufacturer listed in the report.
After identifying an affected pharmacy, you must locate the account either in Submission Balances or Purchase Validation.
Determining which module to use
If you identified the affected account using the At Risk and Suspended Pharmacies report, check Submission Balances first. If the account is not available there, continue your search in Purchase Validation.
Check Submission Balances
Navigate to Submission Balances.
Use the available filters to search for the affected pharmacy and associated account — matching the Covered Entity, Manufacturer, and Pharmacy Type exactly.
If the manufacturer, covered entity, and pharmacy match the affected pharmacy identified in the At Risk and Suspended Pharmacies report, continue to Investigating At Risk and Suspended Accounts in Submission Balances.
If the account does not appear in Submission Balances, navigate to Purchase Validation and use the available filters to locate it.
If the account matches, select View Details and continue to How to investigate at-risk and suspended accounts in Submission Balances .
Check Purchase Validation
If you cannot locate the account in Submission Balances:
Navigate to Purchase Validation.
Use the available filters to locate the affected account.
Match the covered entity, manufacturer, and pharmacy name against the information in the report.
If the account matches, select View Details and continue to How to investigate at-risk and suspended accounts in Purchase Validation .
If you cannot locate the account in either module, verify the filters and your access to the covered entity. Contact 340B ESP Support if you still cannot identify the appropriate account.
Note: A Purchase Validation account may include multiple pharmacies or dispensing locations. Review the account details to confirm that the affected pharmacy is included.
