In 340B ESP, covered entities designate contract pharmacies to submit claims data for those pharmacies. With a registered 340B ESP account, covered entities use the Entity Profile module to designate contract pharmacies and manage which pharmacies are associated with each policy.
Before You Begin
You must be registered and logged into 340B ESP.
You have one or more contract pharmacies you wish to designate.
Designating a Contract Pharmacy in 340B ESP
Navigate to the Entity Profile on the left side panel.
Use the Manufacturer dropdown to select the manufacturer for which you want to make a designation.
Click Make Designation. Only manufacturers participating on the 340B ESP platform will be available for selection within the dropdown.
Select the appropriate designation(s) in the pop‑up modal based on the policy and the relevant networks.
Read and confirm the Policy Confirmation.
Select Contract Pharmacy that you want to designate, using the Designated Pharmacy dropdown.
Click Save Designation. After successfully designating a contract pharmacy, you will receive the below confirmation.
After saving a new designation, it will appear in your list of Single Contract Pharmacy Designations report, located in the 340B ESP Reports module. Repeat these steps for any additional contract pharmacy designations you would like to make.
Tip: Before making designations, you can preview the manufacturer policy elements, such as Geofence, 1 CP Policy, Exemption, etc. by hovering over the icons displayed under the policy header.
Reviewing Contract Pharmacy Designations in 340B ESP
In the Reports module, the Single Contract Pharmacy Designations report provides a line‑level view of all contract pharmacy designations, with each row representing an individual contract pharmacy designation. Here you can filter contract pharmacy designations by covered entity and manufacturer.
By selecting View Report, you can review claim‑level information and apply filters to focus on specific data segments or trends.
Navigate to the Reports module from the side panel menu.
Select View Report for the Single Contract Pharmacy Designations report.
Use the filters in the right-side panel to customize your report by selecting one or more Covered Entities and/or manufacturers.
Using the available filters, the report displays the total number of designations that meet your selected criteria and provides a detailed list of the corresponding pharmacies. Each row includes the Manufacturer, Entity (340B ID), Pharmacy and address, HIN, and Type — which indicates whether the designation is available at retail or identifies the associated LDN.
