How to Add a Partner to Your Covered Entity

340B ESP enables entities to give TPAs access to their 340B ESP account

Admins can grant partners, including Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), consultants, and other authorized organizations access to a covered entity in 340B ESP by adding a partner access token and assigning the appropriate permission level. Once added, partners can securely access covered entity data and, depending on their permissions, submit claims data on the covered entity's behalf through the SDK.

Before You Begin

  • You must have Admin permissions for the covered entity.

  • You must obtain an access token from your TPA before beginning the setup process.

Adding a TPA to a Covered Entity

Use the Settings module to add a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) and grant them access to the appropriate covered entities in 340B ESP.

  1. Navigate to Settings.

  2. Scroll down the page until you see the TPA Permissions.

  3. Click Add TPA on the covered entity to which you want to add a TPA.

  4. Enter the access token provided by your TPA.

  5. Select the appropriate permission level:

    1. Read Eligibility – Allows the TPA to access eligibility information and make SDK calls but does not allow claim submissions.

    2. Read and Write Submissions – Allows the TPA to submit claims data on behalf of the covered entity.

  6. Click Save.

After the TPA has been added, it will appear in the TPA Permissions list for the covered entity along with its assigned permission level. A covered entity may grant access to multiple TPAs. Admins can review existing TPA access and permissions at any time from the TPA Permissions tab.

Tip: Partners can use access tokens to connect with covered entities to access 340B ESP’s API and SDKs. To learn more about how partners can get and share access tokens, check out Partner Access Tokens in 340B ESP.
